Mr. Rakesh Kapur

Chairman

Mr. Rakesh Kapur is the Jt. Managing Director, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO), having turnover of USD 7.70 Billion (2022-2023).

Mr. Kapur was the President, International Fertilizer Association (IFA), Paris (2017-19); and the Chairman, Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) (2015-17). Associated with the Fertilizer sector for more than 25 years.

An ex-Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Officer, Mr. Kapur held senior assignments in the Government of India, which included Joint Secretary (Commercial), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India; Director, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers; Additional Assessor & Collector, Municipal Corporation of Delhi apart from the postings in the Income Tax Department, prior to his joining IFFCO in October 2000 as the Finance Director.

Mr. Kapur holds B.Tech. (Mech) Degree from IIT, Delhi, and PG Dip. in Management.  He has traveled widely and participated in various national/ international Conferences, presenting papers on different subjects.  He is on the Board of 9 Indian and 2 Overseas Companies. He is also the Managing Director, IFFCO Kisan SEZ Ltd.

Mr. Said Al Maawali

Deputy Chairman

Said Al Maawali is the Executive Director – Middle East at OQ Supply & Trading, working closely with various Omani stakeholders on existing and new business opportunities. His responsibilities also include the supervision of the dry bulk, LNG, fertilizers, and carbon emissions desks along with assisting in the development of new commercial lines within the company. Having graduated as a Construction Engineer from Iowa State University and held an MBA from the University of Hull in the U.K., his career spans 22 years and encompasses engineering, marketing, and trading (including initiating and executing Oman's first CDM project under the Kyoto protocol framework).

Dr. U S Awasthi

Board Member

Dr. U S Awasthi is a Managing Director & CEO, IFFCO, he has Chemical Engineer from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Awasthi is a world-renowned professional & an authority in the global fertiliser industry. With nearly 5 decades of experience, Dr. Awasthi has been instrumental in making IFFCO, a global leader in fertiliser production. Under his leadership IFFCO has made rapid strides on all fronts and has diversified into several sectors like General Insurance, Rural Telephony, Rural Retail, Organics, Food Processing & Forestry amongst others. Dr. Awasthi serves on the boards of several Indian and global companies.

Mr. Rajan Chowdhry

Board member

Mr. Rajan Chowdhry is the Managing Director, KRIBHCO, he is a commerce graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce and a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with over 3 decades of rich experience. He has held various positions such as Finance Director -KRIBHCO, CFO and Director- KFL , Director Finance- IPGCL and PPCL.

Ms. Manal Al Azri

Board Member

Manal is a qualified Management of Risk Practitioner (MoR) and an ACCA affiliate. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Financial Services from the University of Bradford, UK, and is certified in Business Continuity and Corporate Governance. Manal has 17 years of experience- 7 years at EY before joining Oman Oil Group. She has also served as board member of Salalah Methanol Company and as an Audit and Risk Committee member at Oman Aluminum Processing Company and SSF.

Mr. Luc Maene

Board Member

Luc Maene has a degree in Soil Science and Agronomy from the University of Gent, Belgium.

He worked for the Belgian Administration for Development Cooperation in Tunisia and Malaysia. In 1982, he became the Team Leader of the UN Fertilizer Advisory, Development and Information Network for Asia and the Pacific. In 1987, he joined the International Fertilizer Association and retired as its Director General at the end of 2012. He has been Vice Chair of the International Fertilizer Development Center, Chair of the Fertilizer Industry Round Table, President of the European Society of Association Executives and President of the International Fertiliser Society. He has a Doctorate honoris causa in Agriculture from the University Putra Malaysia.

Mr. Sadiq Al Lawati

Board Member

Sadiq Al Lawati is currently the Vice President of Asset Management, Commercial & Downstream at OQ. He has over 24 years of international experience in finance and accounting in multinational companies. Sadiq started his career in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and then further with Motorola and GE Oil & Gas in UAE, Oman, Morocco, Saudi and UK in various leadership positions. Prior to joining OQ, Sadiq was leading Finance for the Polymers Marketing Business at Orpic (now OQ RPI). He holds an MBA from Cardiff Business School and a Bsc in Accounting from Sultan Qaboos University.

Mr. Manish Kumar

Board Member

Mr. Manish Kumar is the Finance Director, KRIBHCO, he holds Bachelor of Technology (Civil) Degree from IIT, Delhi and is also MBA in Finance. He joined Indian Audit & Accounts Service in 1993, after working in a private sector for 4 years. During his tenure in the Central Government of India and deputations, he served at senior management level especially in the area Accounts, Audit and Finance for more than 29 years. His experience includes working in Ministry of Finance and multilateral agencies such as UNDP and World Bank.

Mr. Ahmed Sohail Hashim

Board Member

Ahmed is the Head of Downstream Business Development and M&A at OQ. He comes with a vast experience in the oil and gas industry and plays a pivotal role in driving strategic growth initiatives within OQ’s Downstream Business. With a decade of experience in the sector, he has held diverse commercial roles in mid-stream and downstream entities, contributing to his well-rounded expertise.

Before his tenure in the oil and gas sector, Ahmed has spent six years at Ernst & Young, specializing in financial advisory and assurance services across various industries. His broad experience spans the public and private sectors, including financial services, telecommunications, energy and more.

Ahmed holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri, St. Louis and CPA license from The New Jersey State Board of Accountancy. In addition to his professional achievements, he has also served as a board member in several international infrastructure entities of OQ as well as strategic committees of downstream growth projects.
